Hello fellow KK owners,

being a first time KK owner was wondering what your thoughts were on going to a bigger tire setup.
I know many have discussed this one or that one my main concern is to try and get a 31 or 33 on the KK I know some KJ guys have accomplished this, but their fenders are a lot shorter.

Im trying to find a wheel that would work as the offset needs to be more aggresive to get the wheel out further and Id rather not install spacers as they cause issues all around.

Was thinking as far as a lift goes :

OME HD Springs
W/ my Current daystar 2"
Bilsteins all around

Tires and wheels looking for ideas and advice :pepper:

Kindly let me know, hopefully you guys dont start to get annoyed as Im looking for some advice here and am new to the KK modicification class.

My guys at the shop wanted to start cutting my fenders , sorry guys this isnt an XJ like yours hahah.

Im even open to the idea of new fenders but havent been able to find them.

:JEEPIN:

you issue isnt fenders. your issue is gears(3.7.3s) , pinch weld( would need to beither bent back or cut and professionally re welded, and your IFS so we cant get much more lift then 5". with 2 inches of lift you could pull off a 31... 33's are pretty much out of the question unless you want to do some EXTENSIVE cutting and your willing to regear so you dont blow your diffs

and for the record... for every inch of tire you add you only add a half inch of extra ground clearance

How deep are your pockets and what all do you want to do
Can't mix OME springs and the daystar lift either unless you like a lot of headaches

Hey Tom, I like your setup it's a leased vehicle with the intention of buying but the setup I have has a nice height just not the tire setup I'd like. Yours looks awesome Tom and seems more effective off-road which mine will be doing some decent off roading with the other fellas at our shop. my pockets well considering I work at a performance shop we can try to get the best pricing for our shop vehicle. What are your thoughts? I know you have some great incite .

if you want 33's you need the following to lack any issues
4.5-5" of lift
your rear fender wells should be trimming and plates rewelded
you need to bang the pinch weld but your better off getting rid of it and have it professionally rewelded
you need to trim you front bumper (stock) or have a shop design and fab you a steel one
you will need to make an adapater for or fix your steering rack.
you will also need cut CVs because at 5 inches your cvs will be binding
with 33's you should regear. 4.10s would be fine for 32's but 33's you should go 4.56 for more low end torque.
while your in there doing gears you might as well do lockers if you serious about off roading.
kiss any warranty you had on the truck goodbye
keep a few CVs handy and a steering rack if you intend not to cut CVs and or fix your steering with that much lift

there is no easy way to do it, no miracles that would all of a sudden allow for if UNLESS you start hacking away in which case i hope you know a good welder

best of luck

Depending on where your wheeling that extra .5" can be the difference if you make that obstical or not,all so true out here in CO.
