1. never mind 2 owners as the 06 warranty was only 3/36.
2. $13k - I'm not currently up on values but given what I paid for my current 05 and what we paid for stoudog's 06 that doesn't sound unreasonable. Keep in mind though that there is a difference between models (Sport vs Limited - ours are the latter) and what options are on the vehicle (ours have most everything except GPS and heated seats).
3. the 1s gen TC on early 05s was very weak but it's a virtual certainty all of those were replaced under warranty. The 2n gen TC is ok as long as you don't subject it to a GDE hotter tune or the GDE turbo. Will do fine with GDE EcoTune.
4. timing belt needs doing at 100k miles but you can plan for it and that's cost for any diesel engine with a timing belt. Cost range is hard to give you as it runs from a DIY belt only replacement costing $75 (an easy 5-6 hr job with the right tools which can be rented from GDE unless someone near your location has tools and time to help) for a Gates belt all the way to ca. $1,500 for a garage to do replacement of all the idler pulleys, belts, and water pump. The key difference is you have to have the belt done as belt failure is expensive (takes lifters with it) but the other items are less critical and if bearings are solid may not need doing until 200K even though doing them at 100k is ideal.
