 Post subject: EGR Valve

I reprogramed my 06 CRD with the Green Diesel program. Do I need to do the EGR work around or has the reprogramed ECU taken care of that?

Short version no you don't and yes it pretty much did. You will also get more feedback if you move this to the CRD portion of the forum at viewforum.php?f=5

Slightly longer version. The GDE tune takes care of EGR problems and soot problems + lots of other good stuff. It does not take care of oil feeding out of the CCV to the airbox to turbo hose and then to the turbo>intercooler>engine hoses. For that your choices are 1) the elephant hose mod or the similar provent mod (plumbs the CCV to ground or to an oil catch can, respectively) or Samco intercooler hoses which are not bothered by oil. I have the latter and the only disadvantage is the need to occasionally check the airbox to turbo hose for and oil induced tear down right by the turbo.
