taking off tuesday to head to the shop with my... i need all of you to pray to the jeep gods that it was install error and not a problem with the gears cause the gears are on national backorder 6 weeks... if i cant get the gears then i have to replace my old gears in the diffs and i have to eat the labor ( for two gear installs) which would not be good at all

thought about it... but I'd have to leave too many things exposed... realistically if my truck needs to have more down time this is probably what i will do... but requires you do disconnect a lot more then just the differential. the cvs need to be removed etc... not terrible but again another expense

i dont mind paying the price if a break something wheeling... but getting proper parts or having a professional shop screw up an install... that shouldnt be my expense

Well today I bought mine. 2012 Liberty Sport with the 28B package. Pretty basic Jeep, but the price was right and I mostly want it as a cheap entry to the off-roading world.

No pics as of yet. I want to get my rims and tires on there first.
I will be putting a set of 245/70/16 Yokohama Geolandar ATS tires I already own on there with (hopefully) a set of of black Cragar Soft 8's. I still have some homework to see if there will be any rubbing issues without a lift/spacers. I worry about the offset of the rims, even though the car comes stock with 235/75/16s tires.

Anyways, glad to join the family of Jeep owners. I am located in downtown Chicago (Near Loop) and can't wait to get out there. I am definitely interested in some trail riding and seeing what the Midwest has to offer.

Changed the brakes today. I was a little horrified by the amount of corrosion on the hubs and wheels. I chipped and sanded for a while to get everything nice and clean. I guess this is what I should expect from what was previously a NY vehicle.

On a related note, will HEAVY corrosion on the axle nut/half-shaft end cause any other issues besides hell when taking it off?

Added 4" led strips for step lights in the rear and wired them to the front step lights. Makes a huge difference at night. Mounted them under the front seats to hide wires in carpet.

There have been a few people on here that have cracked their steering racks. So don't feel bad.
