Hello everyone

Currently having issues with day star lift and rear bilsteins . I get clanking from the rear and loud slamming when over hard bumps, also the shocks loosen up all on their own

Could it be shocks bottoming out ?
Bump stops to short ?
There the model I was told to use, mind you I'm pretty sure I'm getting the ome springs and bilstein fronts next week

Thoughts ? Advice ?

Did you add washers to the sleeves? Iirc they don't come with wide enough sleeves so you have to either add washers or get wider metal sleeves.

If it's over hard bumps they might be bottoming out. For whatever reason daystar made those rear spacers hollow, thus allowing the upper oem bumpstops to go into them and over compress the spring. I filled mine in to prevent this.

Seems like the Bilsteins have a narrower bolt spacing so when they were tightened down they back out a bit as the steel goes back to its original form.

They are the correct PN that were supposed to use...any ideas other than lock tight on these shocks?

OME springs are ordered and from bilstein struts.

fill the gap with washers instead of cranking down all the way and bending the bracket. ive never had a problem with mine this way.

i think you just need a few on either side of the top mount. if my memory serves me correctly the bottom was fine.

The bottom is fine. Just add spacers the top...

Honestly I have the same issue with my RK lift. I have OME's in the back. I replaced the bumpstops in the front with the Teraflex ones and it helped a bit. I honestly think its the upper A-Arm slamming into the bumpstop and just making a clank noise. It also could be the spring over compressing. Still savin up for that JBA Lift :), but I still love my RK

JBA's 4.5 Gen Upper Control Arms state they add a 3/8" more strut clearance and prevent banging over bumps. They are much nicer than the KK's stock A-Arms. Also I'm nervous about my steering knuckle failing after being at such a weird angle after lifting it. Defanetly going to be my next large purchase for my KK.

What setup do you have in the rear now
Are the shocks blowing out or just making noise going over bumps

Make sure the bushings haven't migrated out of the eyelets esp in the top.

I'm having the same issue with my 5100 bilsteins.

The tops didn't come with any sleeve, I was able to cut a piece of pipe to fit the bolt, and the rubber grommet perfectly.

The bottom did come with a sleeve, but it is too norrow (used washers) and the hole in the sleeve is a few MMs larger than the bolt. The other problem is the rubber grommet that it fits into, is much bigger than the top, so I'm having a hard time finding the right size sleeve or pipe to fit both the outside diameter, and the inside diameter.

I believe this is only half of the clunk/rattle though.

It sounds almost like the driveshaft is hitting the gas tank, or something similar?

Appears to me as the bolts are backing out as they must be a smaller diameter than the Oem so the 2 on 2 each side totaling 8 washers would most likely solve this issues .... Agreed?

Should have opted for the 7100 series shocks,no bushings or sleeves to worry about, granted still have to shim it but holds much better as they use heim joints on each end.

So the 7100s are direct fit? The eyelets are the correct size for the stock bolts, on top and bottom?
