Hey guys...

For those who don't know me (or just don't remember me) I was "LOST" back a few years ago. I had a lifted '03 KJ Sport with many goodies...you might remember me as the guy who was the first to put an EVIC in a non-EVIC equipped KJ and wrote the instructions on how to do it... (I still get emailed about that 3 years later!)

Here's an old pic of my old Sport on a LOST run back in 2003 in the Hamptons (the green muddy one with the roof rack)

Image

I miss her!

Unfortunately, I am currently Jeep-less (I had a ZJ after the KJ...currently looking for another KJ, ZJ or WJ...whicever I find first )

For those that remember me, you know I administrate a bunch of websites (the largest being LXForums.com with over 6K members)

Anyway....as you saw by the title of this thread, the press release just came out for the new Patriot. I started a website for the Patriot over at JeepPatriot.com. Here's a link to the press release, thought my old buds might be interested in reading about it:

2007 Jeep Patriot Press Release

John and Adam, one of these days I swear, we will meet up again!

It's way better looking then the Compass.

I guess this is the "Off Road" package. Didn't see this style (with the fog & roof lights) in the link you posted.

Maybe with the Patriot and the Compass those CJ/XJ/TJ owners will leave the KJ alone!

I really like the look. Too bad those wheelwells are so small-getting 29" tires in there would probably be a chore.

Good to hear from you LibertyKJ. Good luck with the new board. My wife and I took a Dodge Caliber for a test drive. If the Patriot drive anything like it, it should be kinda nice. We drive the SXT model with the smaller engine. Waiting to drive the R/T with the 172 HP engine. Only one weird thing with it, I might have a hard time with the tranny not shifting. It strange to hear the car just lower it RPM instead of shifting.

Now I'm not claiming that that will be nearly as capable as the KJ, but that Patriot with the offroad package seems to have more ground clearance than my KJ  . I like the styling though.

Hey, good to see ya!! What happened to your ZJ?

Either way, get another Jeep and get back here!

Oh yeah, wanna update the EVIC instructions? :)

The styling is slick. I'm happy with my KJ, but the Patriot is better than the Compass for sure.

I love it! I would not trade my libby for it with all of the stuff Ive done to it. If it would of been on the lot when I got my libby, I wouldnt have a libby.

Looks like it has alot of GC, at least 10in.

The ZJ was our baby. Unfortunately, the trans blew on it and I got an offer I couldn't refuse for it in "as is" condition. I'm looking to complete the trifecta with a Wrangler now.

I'd update the EVIC instructions, but I'm not sure how the computers are in the later model KJ's. I know in 2004 there was some problems when using my older instructions.
