Well since most of you know by now I have been cutting CVs for quite a while so I have had about 20 different cvs apart now. And probably close to 100 times at that so I would say I have a little experience in this. So here is the how to on replacing your inner CV boots.
Step 1Collect all your tools you will need. As you can see I have a pair of tin snipes, needle nose pliers, and a small flat blade screw driver. Also both replacement boots of course.
Step 2Cut the bands off your boots and a lot of times I just cut the boots the rest of the way off. After some cleaning your cvs should look like this.
Step 3Now this is where all that cleaning pays off time the release the CV cup there is a clip that needs to be released. You can see it here. All you have to do is pry the to tips of the clips in separate directions.
Step 4Once you release that clip you should end up with 3 separate parts. The ball bearings the bearing cup and the bearing retaining cup. You can see the bearing cup (right) and the retaining cup (left).
Step 5Now comes time for reassembly so just slide the new boot on. Then the retaining cup and then the bearing cup. Once you have that back together and lined up properly start putting the bearings back in. I open the grease at this point and use a dab on each bearing to hole it in. And when you are finished it should look like this.
Step 6Well the only thing you have left is to fill the boot and CV selve with the rest of the grease and fit them together make sure not to tear the boot while doing it. I used a small screw drive with a curved tip to help the boot on and this is the final look you are going for.

Thank you everyone for reading and if you have any ?s feel free to ask.
