Ok fellas. I have this super annoying metal jingling/bell/chain dragging sound over bumps...
I have checked heat shields, sway bar bushings, tried to recreate but no luck... Anyone have ideas or insight? Want to get it taken care up before it because something serious!

Probably a long shot but... on some KKs the rear seat belts hit something every time you hit a bump and make a metallic type noise.

The sound is external from under the front of the vehicle

have you checked things like the idler pullys and the tensioner
Does it do it sitting still? or only when going over bumps etc, do it in reverse?
have you checked the rear boot on the front driveshaft ?

Idler Pulley and Tensioner are all in good order.
It does not do it sitting still. The noise occurs over bumps only at this time.
I have not checked if it does it in reverse or noticed... what would that mean?
I have not checked the rear boot on the front drive shaft... What should I be looking for?

Rear boot of the front driveshaft goes bad and then the bearings pretty much turn to dust. Common problem with all of them, look up at the rear part of the driveshaft, there "should be" a rubber boot, if its missing it could cause a similar sound
Other than that a bad ( blown) front shock or shock mount
or
exhaust rattling against something

Exhaust I inspected last night and checked out all of the mounts and hangers and heat shield are in order.
When I get home tonight I will check out the drive shaft and boot.
And will post the findings.
Thanks for the help!

Most likely the stabilizer bar links. Check torque on bolts/nuts, especialy the ones on top.

@tonycrd

I checked the links originally, but I will double check them when I am under there removing the front drive shaft.

Also, I am looking at a cv joint kit for my driveshaft from Drive Shaft Parts, see link below.
The kit is $100 cheaper than the kit at Autozone, see link below. WHY IS THIS???

I only buy wax, lights bulbs, and oil at autozone. I just wondered if I was missing something...

When my truck made that sound... Sounded like i was dragging spoons on string... Once it turned out to be the Transfer case going bad... The second was my rear diff on its way out...

Alright... Replaced the rear cv joint on the front driveshaft. Took the KJ for a spin still have the noise over bumps!!! Not mad because the rear cv was bad.

So, I isolated the noise over bumps it doesn't occur when the front wheels hit the bump. It occurs when the rear wheels hit the bump. So put it back up on the ramps and inspected the rear suspension, sway bar, exhaust, and I can't find anything out of order and can't recreate the sound.

Any ideas of where this noise is coming from or what it could possibly may be that is causing the noise?!?

HELP!!!! :furious:

So, I receive in the mail a recall from Jeep for the rear lower control arms.
I inspected the control arms and mounts and everything looked to be in order...
Could this possibly be what is causing my rear suspension noise?
Opinions please...

That or tigthen the shock mount bolts in the rear. Mine was doing that a few months ago and I finally figured it out. Go out and grab the rear shocks if that move at all then tighten the lower bolts. If not check the top bolts if they are loose you will get the same noise.

FOUND THE :furious: NOISE AND FIXED IT!!!

Ended up being parts of my parking brake inside of my rear rotor on the driver side...
Pads were gone... spring broke and the pivot levers where bouncing around inside of there...
So, I removed the entire assembly on both wheels for right now!

Ahhh!!! How I missed the peace and quiet going down the road!!!
