So I did a search and only came up with this old thread http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=62686&p=697181&hilit=automatic+door+locks#p697181

Has anyone figured out a way to disable these horrible locks? I don't mind the locking but the fact that they don't unlock when you put the jeep in park drives me crazy. :furious: posting.php?mode=post&f=5#

Any help will be much appreciated. BTW its an 05 sport crd without EVIC
Thanks Terrence

You need access to a DRBIII.

If you lack the EVIC then, as noted, they have to be programed with the tool. A dealer can do it but I don't have a clue as to the cost although I can say doing the programming shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

Before getting them programed I'd recommend taking a look at your owner's manual in the section dealing with Customer Programmable Features (begins on pg 132 in the "e" copy) for the various settings and pick the settings you want so you can tell that to whomever does the programming. If you don't have the owners manual 1st take a look on the shelf at the inside top of the glove box where the manual hides but if it's not there you can get an "e" copy from the links on Sir Sam's NOOB guide or the Jeep web site section for owners.

Thank SirSam, I think I am just going to try and find an EVIC to install Permanently. If I can't find one I will defintely take you up on that. I am in the Springs I live on base at the Academy (wife is AD USAF). What EVIC's would work?
Thanks Terrence

Well I have a several EVICs that would work....except for the outside temp. It is VERY hard to find the correct EVIC.....they are very rare and expensive. good luck.

Or........if we can meetup or cover the shipping, I can send you one to plug in and adjust that setting so at least you don't have to be bothered with the auto locks while you spend a few years looking for the correct EVIC (I'm not joking........you could look for 6 months and not find the correct EVIC....they are that rare)
