Hi yall,
I decided to hard wire my V1 radar detector by splicing into the power for my overhead display (where the temperature and compass are), and the thing has about 10 different wires in its power hookup. Now, of course from my V1 there are two wires, the red power wire and the black ground. I was hoping I could just splice into the existing ground for the overhead, as well as the red power wire, but I have no idea which is which in the 10 different wires. Help anyone? I can post some pics if needed.

buy a test light.. and poke the wires 1 by 1 till you find the live one (light will light up on the test light). can also poke at the wires where they come into the plug. same system haha.

The manual for the 2002 says that all power for the EVIC comes off of the PK(pink) wire.

Thanks! What about the ground wire?

I would definitely use a multimeter for that and check for continuity to ground when the key is on and off.
