Can someone recommend a good entry level code reader? Also, if you have a GDE tune would hooking up a personal code reader affect the aftermarket tune?

An aftermarket code reader will have no effect on a GDE tune. Do your research for a scan tool as most do not communicate very well with the CRD.

I'm sure GDE knows what he's talking about. So I guess I'm lucky: I sprang for a really inexpensive Centech code reader from Harbor Freight about 3 years ago, and it seems to work fine, for what it is. It isn't fancy, all it will do is read the codes and clear them, or most of them. I haven't tried it on the really persistent codes.

I got it on sale for, I think about $40, and I think it was this one: http://www.harborfreight.com/can-obdii- ... 98568.html
