My wife and I went hiking today on a trail called "Italian Springs", which is at the end of a 4wd trail called the "Italian Trap". Here are a few pictures from the Jeep part of it:

It was fun but I definitely need to replace my medium duty front springs now that I have the heavy front bumper. Between that and the fact that my tires have worn down a lot I've lost a lot of ground clearance. We were alone and scraped bottom more than I would like. Time to almost completely rebuild the front suspension.

Good thing is we are planning to buy an additional Jeep in the next 3 to 15 months. (Money already saved.) I had been vascillating between 33 and 35" tires. Today I know for sure: THIRTY FIVES.

I go down to Tucson almost every Fall, but I never Jeep around there. I might have to fix that problem.

That's a problem that can be fixed! Post or otherwise let us know if you want to go out.

We did get good rain at the end of 2011, so there have been plenty of wildflowers and lots of blooming cactus this year. In 2012 we haven't had much rain: 0.55" to date at Tucson International Airport compared with an average 3.18" to date.
