Looks good.
Is that skid custom made? Does it bolt to any other location other than the engine crossmember? I'm going to fab my own front skid and looking for ideas.

Yeah its custom. It bolts on in 6 places, last two bolts just in front of the transfer case.

You really need to make sure your nuts/bolts are recessed so that the nuts dont get caught up on rocks etc.. If they do they rip off or bend then you cant take it off when u need to without cutting up your armour. Needs to be designed so you can "slide" over ruts/boulders without getting hung up by protruding nuts/bolts. Im sure most kno this but thought I make the mention so others who try to make their own dont make the mistake.

Neither of those skids look like they protect the radiator which has alot of plastic on it that will break easily. I need to make a skid as well. Anyone willing to share some design drawings?

If theres no where to crawl then you dont need skids hehe

I think riptricket's roadsign skid is more to keep the oem engine skid from shoveling mud.

Thats why I made the first one back in 05 was to keep the mud out of the skid, many have copied even Boiler who sold some :banghead:

Is that thick enough to protect the radiator? I was thinking of using diamond plate..not sure where I would connect it in the front. If I use my factory bumper is just going to collapse under any force anyways
