I have recently deployed and am looking for items for my 2012 kk. I have 16X8 cragar soft 8s and im planning to go with duratrac tires. I simply want a 2.5" lift and am looking for a decent place to either purchase custom bumpers or be able to see some plans. I am a machinist in the Army so i run a fab shop already. This will be the first vehicle I have ever tried any off this on and am just learning. Any advice would be great. Thank you

Welcome to lost Sgt!
Your best bet for a 2.5" lift is going to be Old Man Emu 2927 front springs and 2731 rears. Upgrade all four shocks to either Bilstein or OME. The rear shocks need to be longer but the front stay the same size as stock. Front extended bumpstops by teraflex and two hockey pucks per side for the rear. A good happy medium tire size is 245/75/16. Jeepinbyal.com carries everything you need.
Bumpers. Since you have a shop i'd just make your own if you can find the time. Thats what i did, for the front anyway. Just start with a cardboard mock up and go from there, taking your time and triple checking measurements and fitment. Currently there is only one fab company in the process of making kk bumpers but i have yet to see one complete.

I work on my own truck, but i'd guess $300 or so for an ome lift.

Have you found any kits that i can get to make it simpler. I am having trouble finding the individual parts. Plus my internet isnt so great for me to be searching. Im wanting it to be a suspension lift as well. The other info was great though, and yes...I am planning for the tires to be 245/75/16 already. so thanks for confirming that.

Its advertised as 1.5" but with 2927s and 2731s its 2.5"-3". You do need the 132L rear shocks, not the 132s.

http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-2_5__Lift_Sp ... K-609.aspx Do you have any insight to this one on jeepinbyals. After paying for shipping and all both sets are nearly the same price. When in alaska where im normally stationed i wouldnt mind the extra ground clearance. Also what are the quick disconnects?

Did you see that you add $195 for rear springs? It also comes with crappy skyjacker hydro rear shocks, which i'm running and wish i wasn't.
The quick disconnects are for your front swaybar. It might give you a little more front travel, but then the upper control arms would hit the spring. I don't think they are worth it.
In my personal opinion the ome kit is the best bang for the buck for what our options are.

I thought someone on here has the quick discos. I think he said they weren't really useful/necessary. I guess I'm gonna start hunting for who now lol

E2 has/had them. Not sure what he thinks about them though. If you see this E2, what do you have to say about quick disconnects?

Other than him, idk who else has them, there is most likely atleast 1 other person here.

927s and 731 springs actually give you more like 2.75-3" of lift. I'm running front 927s and daystar rear spacers with shims but the rear should be about the same with 731s.

DirtyKK is running a Detours backbone system. I'm guessing he used the KJ system since the front crossmember is the same.

Looks good, you just need two extended front bumpstops.
http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-TeraFlex_Bump_Stop-653.aspx
Two hocky pucks per side in the rear bolted to the lower spring perch (sits inside the spring).

sweet. They are on order and will be waiting back in alaska for when i redeploy. I must say it is hot in the desert but at least i dont have bills so i can finally go and spend the extra change on something worth while. If i wasnt here id be blowing my money and never have thought of doing all this. When you did your bumper how did you start for the custom job? im trying to find a good startin point to work from.
