Isn't Rock Krawler the spacer lift that says 3.5" but most people only get about 2" or so?

Yes and also figure in that the stock coils have sagged and you get what an 1.5 inch lift maybe

Sounds like these jeeps have pretty crappy stock coils

On KJs which KKs are the same they are good maybe 35-40,000 miles. I have had ones with 70,000 in which had sagged over an inch. One with 80,000 was sitting 1.5 inches below new stock height. CVs went up to the front diff from the wheel :ROTFL:

So basically you have a window to use a specific type of lift on these jeeps. I only want a budget lift to last me until tax time. I maybe even want to research custom suspension options.

You could do a 3/8" top plate and a clevis lift in the front for about 1.5" of lift. Rear two more isolators or rubber/cutting board rings for 1/2". Maybe that will tide you over till tax time.

One problem with running a daystar then going to a spring lift is removing the top plate studs for the daystar top plate then trying to reinstall them into the stock plates. You'll either have to tack weld them back in, get new factory top plates, or wallow out the holes and put new larger knurl diameter studs in. When i trie putting the old studs back in they just spun when i tried to tighten them. It turned into a major headache.

If you decide on the RK lift, well, its $300 and and ome springs are about 340 shipped. Sounds like a no brainer to me.

With any of those kits you'll need longer rear shocks no matter what and upgrading the front is advised.

I'm running Super Swamper M16's (31x10.50R16), and I really like them. Great for a daily driver, and still aggressive for off-road. They are great in deep snow, but not so good in icy conditions. They perform better and are quieter than my old BFG KM1's, but they are a bit heavier and cost some $$'s. I'd buy them again...
