I just installed a lift pump temporary under my Hood. Now I have done some research and found mix results does it make a big difference if its under the Hood or near the tank? I plan to extend the hose and mount it under the battery but I'm not sure what to do.

Near the tank for best results. Definitely between the tank and fuel filter.

For an inline lift pump; low down near the fuel tank is ideal but in the engine bay before the fuel filter works also per several members. If/when I get around to installing the Facet that's sitting on my shelf I'll probably put it in the engine bay with a clear prefilter just so I can eyeball any big crud going thru the system.

Of course in tank is probably even better but that requires a bit more work. If I was to do this I'd probably get rid of all the quick disconnects at the same time.
