HI all...can anyone tell me what size of copper crush washer will fit on an oil pan drain plug from a 2006 CRD? I would like to pick some up before I drain the oil on the next oil change. I have done some reading on forums, but there seems to be a lot of different answers as to the size of the drain plug. As near as I can make out. the hole seems to be 3/8...so...would a copper crush washer with an ID of 7/16 work?

No need to buy another. Take the one you've got, clean it, heat it 'til it's red hot, drop it in some cold water and reuse it.

Or just buy one from Dodge. Part # 4720353, only a couple dollars.

I've only replaced mine once with over 100,000 miles of oil changes and it never leaked oil out of the plug. All I did each time was clean it off and reinstall it. I did however just replace the plug with a Fumoto plug last night.

I just reuse it also. Some will tell you to replace it every time you change oil, but that's not needed. Just wipe it off and reuse, I do that will all my vehicles. My 98 dodge diesel still has the same washer it came with from the factory, 14 years and 375,000 miles ago.

I know it's been quite a time since this post was updated, but since my oil change interval has finally come due, I thought I would fill in some blanks. First of all, thanks to everyone who posted, and especially Dennis who measured his drain plug.
I had NO copper washer on my drain plug; the previous owner, or some not so observant quick oil change employee lost it.
The drain plug on my diesel needs a washer 17MM ID. and 22MM OD. or about 11/16" ID and about 7/8" OD.
SO...I have drained my oil, and, since NAPA, nor anyone else in the small town I live near has the washer, I will hop in the old Suburban and go to a larger center to find one.
The part # 4720353 seems to be the correct one, and I will start the search at the Dodge dealership.
One again, thanks, and sorry to respond so late....

Why you wouldn't just buy a Fumoto Drain valve and be done with it is far beyond my reasoning skills....

Seems like a long time. I just did my third change since then. Might want to shorten your time interval if you put on few miles.

I don't put a lot of miles on: I have my oil change interval at 10K. I got a washer at a nearby town's Dodge/Jeep dealership for what I think is a ridiculously high price of $7.20. I likely could have found a supply of copper crush washers in the city (Calgary)for that price, but I don't get there all that often, and didn't want to put the plug back in with no washer. At any rate, the job is done; this washer should last a long time.

If by 10K you mean kilometers, I presume so since you are in Calgary, that oil change interval is ok but if you mean miles it's way too long in my opinion notwithstanding the Owner's Manual.
