Hi,

if you have a CRD 2.8 2004 you are not in the US, where in the world are you?
There are many options to give your CRD a bit of lift all depends if you have a CRD 2.5 or CRD 2.8 and how tall you want to go.

Fil.

Yeah, I have heard the same sort of stories "journalist rolled a KJ during press day and Jeep lowered the suspension to placate the backlash". The supposed lowering was only about 10mm as I understand it. But, I have also heard the suspension was raised again in subsequent model years. Look if your suffering from lift envy, just measure the distance from the lower lip of the bottom of the wheel rim to the lower edge of the guard (obviously across the centre of the hub) and post it up here. A new stock KJ CRD ran around 690mm in the later years of the model run, there might be a little sag that occurs over the years as the springs get tired..

If you just want a slight adjustment, there are packer rings available from ARB in Australia that can be used to lift the strut off the clevis by about 5mm (and they can be stacked). They are called Prado Packers (in reference to the Toryota Prado 4WD sold here, but they can fit the KJ strut collar with a little work with a Dremel tool (or a file) to enlarge the inside of the ring slightly. We use them to compensate for added weight say when adding a winch.
