When I just changed my oil, when putting the oil in the fill tube, I just discovered that there is a plastic insert in the tube. This big piece of plastic comes out in order to make filling with oil easier. I had no idea. And I have been changing oil on various vehicles for over 30 years. I have never seen anything like it. So I think that in the past, oil was overflowing a little into the connected pcv valve since I did not have the plastic piece out, and it restricted the filling speed.
Oh well, live and learn. You can teach an old dog new tricks. Or maybe he should just spend more time reading the manual... :dizzy:

I never take that thing out. I just use a funnel and it fills plenty fast. That insert keeps you from doing stupid things like dropping small objects inside (like the plastic ring on the top of the oil jug).
