All finished.

I used Duplicolor's "truck bed coating" on my front and rear bumpers and like it a lot. If you do many light coats with the can at about 18" away you get a good sturdy finish with good texture. Their other product "bed armor" sucks though, I can't believe they havn't discontinued it.

Thanks. I wanted to first design a bumper with no carriers as an affordable option in case anyone wanted one. The hinges, latches, extra steel and labor to make the carrier(s) cost a good chunk of change and will drive the final cost way up. I do plan on making one with a carrier... some day.
