If you install a new front pump with the upgraded design (single snap ring on the front cover), don't waste your time installing the Transgo shift kit parts for the front pump-only 1/2 of the parts fit. The kit also came with a new snap ring that is supposed to hold up better under high torque/horsepower but factory snap ring should just do fine and we didn't bother with it.

The transgo shift kit components are designed for the older style front pump (2 snap rings) to replace worn parts.

We did install the transgo shift kit parts for the transmission valve body. The automatic tranny shifts much quicker but shifts are silky smooth and not harsh at all. Not sure if that is related to the shift kit or the fact the transmission has lower miles than my original transmission.

A big thanks to Sir Sam for coming down to reinstall my "new' transmission. I blew my back out last week and am in severe pain and his help and expertise were greatly appreciated. Only issue we was we were missing a bolt and had a bolt left over of another size that we have no idea where it goes....hmmmmm.

Couple of observations:
1. You can never have enough doggy pee pads to soak up ATF fluid which seems to get all over the place.
2. ATF+4 smells like cat urine and your wife, dogs, and cats will notice it
3. Harbor freight red loctite is USA made and it is what we used on the 4 flex plate bolts.
4. I put antiseize on the starter bolts. The hidden bolt was almost impossible to extract when I dropped the tranny last month.
5. Kirkland (Costco) battery wouldn't start battery after sitting unplugged for about 3-4 weeks
6. I use starter fluid (ether) to clean tranny parts. It evaporates quickly, leaves no residue (don't get can with top end lubricant), and doesn't harm seals and plastic like brake fluid cleaner and carb cleaner can. Not reccommended for use by smokers ;-)
7. Rhino or equivalent car ramps do not raise the vehicle high enough to move the tranny/xfer case in/out from under the vehicle. We had to jack up the vehicle higher than wheel ramp height and install tranny from driver's side.
8. Wobble joint extensions will help on top bellhousing bolts. Make sure you have more than 1 15mm socket in your inventory and if you have more, know where they are kept.
9. A fluid/oil extractor helps remove most of the ATF in the transmission.

10. If you have a crappy latop keyboard that skips/misses typed letters and miss the letter "f" in the word shift, this bulletin board automatically changes s.h.i.t. into the word "doo doo" I almost died when I reread my post for spelling errors and it read "transgo doo doo kit" ;-) doo doo doo doo doo doo, that is funny.

Your bolt...I vaguely remember that one. It will be one of those that goes from the engine side into the transmission. I think...memory is foggy here given this was back in April...it should be the area just above the oil filter.

Good luck...not that you'll be crawling under it anytime soon until your back forgives you.
