Hi Tom, Buggin, and other northern OH members,
Sort of an unorthodox request, but here goes! I will be visiting my in-laws in southern MI for Christmas, not too far from you all. I am writing to you today because I picked up a lightly used 4" JBA lift kit that I want to install but I have never done any suspension work before. I know there's a boatload of expertise just over the border in Ohio... I would rather learn how it's done from the pros, than have a shop install the lift for me behind closed doors. Not that I'm inviting myself over
but if you would like a fun Jeep project sometime between Dec 17 and Jan 1, I would love to meet you and I can supply the Jeep! I can also supply food and beverages for the day.
Some specifics of the Jeep and the kit:
2008 KK with 225/75/R16 AT tires (would love to upgrade to 245/75/R16 Duratracs eventually)
Used JBA 4 inch lift kit (year and a half old, not wheeled hard), including springs, shocks, and adjust-a-struts
Used JBA UCA's (only 2 months old) with Moog upper ball joints
Front and rear bump stops, extended brake lines for the rear (never installed)
*** Need an adjustable track bar for the rear axle. You wouldn't have one lying around the shop, would you, Tom? If a lift date at the famed Mudd's Garage will be happening, I could be sure to order one from JBA beforehand.
So I apologize if this is a presumptuous request, but I thought it never hurts to ask! I have enjoyed learning how to maintain and mod my Jeep, and I would love to have the chance to install a lift with folks who know what they're doing. It's also fun to meet and wrench with other members of LOST. Let me know what you think!
Lauren
