My 05 libby has developed a hot start problem, only when engine is warmed up if you shut the engine off and go to restart it will start but immediately stall. Even trying to coax it to keep running with pumping the gas pedal she will not continue running. Now heres where it gets weird, if you repededly try to start it when warm eventually after the third or fourth turn of the key she will fire up like nothing is wrong. Again this is only when engine is warm , cold starts no issue. I have checked fuel pressure it is right on with specs, crank sensor and cam sensors have been replaced, checked plugs they look good. What is weird is the randomness of the problem, it seems to do it whenever it wants no idea when you will run into the starting issue, also no check engine light no misses jeep runs like it should she is always well kept up on with maintenance I know I do it myself. Libby has 118,600 on her ticker. I cycled the key to check for codes and got p0303 cylinder 3 misfire detected. I don't think this code has anything to do with my problem unless the last two numbers are reversed like these codes sometimes read I will have to check on that. For now has anyone had, or fixed this issue?

This is being talked about right now over on jeepkj. Currently my 05 sport has been doing this for a year and a half and it only happens once every few months. Its hard to diagnose it when its only happening every so often.

Well I took the libby to my buddy today who is in the business, he hooked up a genesis scanner to the obd port and low and behold the throttle position sensor was giving random readings. As you gave the jeep throttle the tps would either read as if the throttle was not even there or it would give the wrong percentages as to the throttle position. He cleared my cylinder misfire code and I put a throttle position sensor in it tonight, took her for a test drive, stop and go city traffic and highway, and as of yet no codes better throttle response and no issues with restart. I am keeping my fingers crossed will keep everyone posted.

darn libby is still acting up, did a fuel pressure leakdown test tonight. At normal operating temp key off engine off it dropped 2 psi in 10 mins, 6 psi in 20 mins, 20 psi in 40 mins. With key on engine off the pressure drops slowly but not nearly as fast as with key off. There is an obvious internal fuel leak but where? Fuel pump, pressure regulator, injector? I am in desperate need of a fuel injection tech!
