It took some pushing but we've got a direct line to VM Italy for OE, VM Motori parts. Most are at a significant discount versus OE Mopar stuff, and, its the SAME stuff! They sent along exploded engine diagrams too, so the sky is the limit on what we can get.

Right now we've got in stock:

OE Rockers w/ Lifters - $24.95 EA / Set of 16 $375.00 (only 1 set left right now, more on the way)
OE Serpentine Belt Tensioner - $159.95
OE Water Pumps - these are identical to the Mopar ones...I've heard that Dodge NA is out of stock on these for a while, so I've got a truckload coming from Italy to fill in.

What else should I start importing?

Great service to be a VM parts source!

I hear of folks going thru the harmonic balancer lately. Also hear Mopar wants an extreme sum for replacement.

It'll be a nice change to not get whacked with VAT or have to trust EBAY sellers, definitely nice.

Is the GRAF the OEM water pump or no?

I'm in the market for motor mounts and a thermostat after my bank account recovers from Christmas.

Theromostats may be an issue because the USA version was unique - the technical diagram from VM shows a thermostat that is missing some of the outlets and the connection for the extra temp sensor.

OE Water pumps are just that, OE VM - the casting has the VM logo on it. I was expecting Graf/Hepu/Geba too, but I guess VM is making these in-house.

I'll get pricing for the harmonic balancer.

Motor mounts are Jeep/Chrysler products, not from VM.

Good call on the head gaskets. Especially for those that want to use ARP studs. I haven't been convinced about the ARPs being superior, but I can understand the draw.

If you can get kit pricing from ARP for 18 studs, nuts washers and lube, plus an Elring SS HG, and a milling cutter to flatten the ridge that those crappy TTY bolts leave, anyone who has a HG leak will buy such a kit. NO more HG leaks, no more warped heads, no more bubbling and coolant loss, no more head clamping problems PERIOD. That will be huge. Given the cost of shop labor today, the studs are worth it, for either the DIY or the pro.

If you do talk to ARP, get them to make the coarse threads 1/4" longer for just that little bit more imbedded length.

There is also no reason to replace the stock bolts, either, as long as they weren't stubborn to remove and you used a 6 pt socket. The head crushes before you reach the yield point on the factory bolts, so the only reason to replace them is if the undersized bolt head is messed up. Take a look at the ARP stud thread page 5 and you will see what I mean.

This is strange, I understood that the automotive parts can only be sold thru Mopar due to agreement with Chrysler, and if you do sell them it shouldn't be for less than the mopar price.
Otherwise VM North America would just sell them directly to the customers and save everyone the hassle.

I'll have to check on this......

ID parts,
Before Mr M. crashes the party, how about stocking rebuilt/new engines or engine rebuild kits.
Also, torque converter source would be nice too for those due TC replacement.

You can buy those from Sealey for around $120 shipped for every tool except the Cam Gear Holder. [VM.1085]

Much cheaper than the Miller set, to be sure.

Torque Converter is a Chrysler part.

Great news :JEEPIN: I will be needing a timing belt in a year or so and your price as well as the ease of getting it all in one kit is nice. I have your site bookmarked for later

Most Contracts have start and ending dates. If the contract for the engine used in the '05 & '06 CRDs is up, VM can sell them to other distributors like IDParts.

It would not surprise me if the 'Bankruptcy'/sale changed some of the vendor contracts
- I'm pretty sure they lost some suppliers because of it.

I'm glad ID parts has an inside line now.
