I was reading on a Russian site about these GX3123 plugs now available (no, I don't speak Russian). The information is spreading.

Since I don't know when the next batch will be manufactured, I decided to order 4 before they are gone. It only cost me $17.40 US for shipping.

A group buy would have been nice but there is no way I can cheaply drive across the border to get them.

edit: Arrived. See Jan.20 post for a picture.

Wow, this is a good bit less than our friendly neighbours to the south at RockAuto charged me couple of years ago to ship a set of ceramics. It's nice to know who your real friends are .

Okay, a bit of truth. I did have it shipped at the regular, cheaper rate. There was a more expensive expedited rate.

Squeeto: If you know some good Canadian online distributors, send an email to Cristian cristiano@etecno1.it and let him know. I gave him contact info for some reputable US Aftermarket online distributors I have done business with and he was grateful.
Otherwise, some one in Hong Kong will be selling their glow plugs through eBay. :SOMBRERO:

Haven't arrived yet.

I emailed dieselglowplug.com just a couple of days ago and I got back an email right away.
They said if the plugs haven't arrived by Monday they will UPS out another set.

This is good customer service but I probably won't take advantage of it. It is not their fault if Canada customs is holding it back. I can wait a while longer.

According to this you should maybe talk to GDE to get the lowdown on these before installing, "wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more" viewtopic.php?f=5&t=64700&p=713589#p713589

Already paid for. I am happy to give them a try.
I may not live in the best environment for cold weather testing though. I think that today is the first time we have gone below freezing this year.

Our weather still hasn't dropped below freezing so I can't comment on how well these plugs fair for really cold temperatures. But for temperatures down to freezing, these plugs are fine. The Jeep starts about the same as always.

I am looking to replace factory GPs with the GX3123's please post when your local temp drops. I can plug in at home but different story at work, I have been starting up at around 9f and its not happy sounding.

Keep in mind that the glow plug light in the cluster may not accurately reflect the glow plug heat up cycle (e.g. the light may cut off before the plugs fully heat up) with either original OEM ceramics/OEM replacement/Etecno1s. In very low temps without the use of the block heater it may be necessary to wait a few seconds after the light goes out to start or even to cycle the key and the light a couple of times. Even so the engine may not be "happy" on initial startup but at the same time ALL the fluids, not just the fuel, are cold hence the use of anti-gel in the diesel is a good idea as is being gentle in driving until the engine/tranny/etc fluids have time to warm up (get used to working). I try to keep things under 40mph until my temp gauge shows some signs of life.

Might be waiting awhile for that post. Our average temperature for the winter here is between 3 and 7 degrees Celsius*. 0 is freezing.

Its 10pm now and 3 celsius across the pond. Weather is supposed to stay above zero for the next 3 days, sorry.

Wife said that it was harder to start yesterday morning when it was about 0. Said it cranked over 7 or 8 times before it started. I can remember the old plugs taking 5 or 6 cranks at this temperature.
