5 was the minimum number of CHARACTERS for my username on a Focus site, and after a lot of names that wouldn’t work I ended up with 5characters. Then I found out my Focus was the 5th one made for the 2010 year and it snowballed from there. Since it worked there I brought it over here and now its sorta my online calling card.

Hmm how to shorten a long story.

Doolop was originally a derogatory term my coworkers called me. But after 5 years and the new people only knowing me by that name and customers only knowing me by that name it stuck. And still today people in my home town think my name is doolop. so it is now my online name. Where we know only handles not name.

Questman: Back in the '90's, I worked in a cell phone store. Many of the customers that came into the store would be willing to change providers, but ONLY if they could keep their old phones. Back then, ALL phones would work through any provider. Since I received a commision whether I sold a phone and service, OR with just service, It made no difference to me. However, those same people would then come in, asking for batteries, chargers, and other accessories. Since the equipment wasn't sold through our company neither were their accessories.

My manager had no problem with me getting the equipment for them, as long as I didn't take any $ for it. So...I used professional catalogs to order occasional parts and pieces, and sold them at cost. But......I needed to use a company name to order from that was NOT our own company. My life, much like this story, has often been an oddysey, so I created a fictitious company based on the ILiad.

Years later, when I joined the L.O.S.T. forum, I kept to a similar theme, and.........Questman was born.

OK..... haven't posted this thread yet
Don't know why, so here's my story

Bought my 02 KJ in October of 91 brand new with 4 miles on it and drove it stock for a couple years. Then I met a guy at the Jeep factory park and shine car show who told me about a web forum for Liberty owners. (It was a black lifted one, any guesses? ) Shortly after that I was just using my first and last name on the forum. Then came the mods! After a couple years and some lift, I bought new tires and had some rubbing problems. Right after I put the tires on I went on a rally and in the parking lot that morning we decided that my fender liners were going to need removed so 1996XJ and I had it up, wheels off and liners ripped out before the rally started. That next week I finally figured out that no one (including me) had noticed I had 2 different diameter tires! The fronts were 32's but the backs were 33's! After calling and talking to Treadwright I had 2 new 33's on the way. When they arrived, needless to say, they didn't quite fit the wheelwells. Everyone said send them back, they won't fit! So I took a 6" Metabo cut-off wheel and MADE them fit. Enlarged the rear wheel opening by 2" all the way around and moved the front wheelwell opening back 4" and welded in new floor pan. So I was the first IFS KJ to run 33's successfully. Right after that, 1996XJ said "dang, you're a wild man Larry". Stumpjumper came up with the same observation about the same time so I will give them both credit for coming up with my handle "KJWILDMAN " .

I find mine kinda funny. My two older brothers and cousin some how came up with Spacemartian as my nickname over time. My first name is Marc so they started calling me Spark, then Sparticus, then Spartion (no idea what that is) and finally it evolved into Spacemartian haha.

I'm huge into snowmobiles and one of the first forums I signed up for was for HCS.com (Hardcore Sledder Com) and the name designates a tribute to a sled I had at the time. It was a 1999 Polaris XC600. Tragically the sled was lost in a brush fire in 2003.

Now over 13 years later, I use the same name regardless of what forum I'm subscribed too. (Mainly because I'm lazy and I don't want to remember 100 different screen names) :)

It was the name I came up with for Challengertalk forum. I describes the look on my face when I'm driving the black beast 2009 Challenger R/T I bought new almost 4 years ago. She's my baby. She totally rocks when I open her up. The Jeep Liberty CRD is my day and bad weather driver. I'm a diesel freak. If money were no object, I'd own a slightly used BMW 335d, too. I'm waiting for the 2014 JGC CRD (3.0L VM) this spring. I'm looking at a 3/4 ton 97 Ram with 280k miles on it now.

Many years ago I had been lurking on an Audio/Video forum (maybe AVS Forum) and decided one day to contribute to a project being discussed. It was the first forum I ever joined, and I was not really prepared for having to select a user name. So after a few attempts to unsuccessfully register names that were already in use, I looked down at the bottom of the page and read something like "There are 112 registered users browsing this forum." So I decided to become the 113th. The name was available.

IDK I hate creating a name to use online and to use my name Mike is not easy as there are Mikes around every corner. The one place I worked as a teenager there was another guy named Mike also that was older and taller than me so to keep both of us from answering when called out to they started calling me Mikey like the kid in the Life cereal commercial and it stuck. I just added numbers to make it work since Mikey is popular too.

Mines a play on words. My first initial is N, my last name is Crowder, and I own a Jeep. Pretty simple.

Boomerang
I used to be into the Rogue Warrior novels by Richard Marcinko (great books up until the last couple!) and there's a fellow SEAL in his stories (supposedly a real guy) who got the nickname Boomerang because he went to BUDs school, failed the first time or two tries through and finally made it. They called him Boomerang because no matter how thrown around he was, beat up, put down or how many times he failed at something he would always come back for more abuse to complete what he started.

I guess I identified with that because life's been rough and I've failed things many times at lifes tests only to return to try again until I get it right.
