Here is a new oil on the block that I have been running with:

"Chevron Delo 400 LE Synthetic 5w-40, found it at the Super WalMart for under $20.00.

https://cglapps.chevron.com/msdspds/PDS ... Format=PDF

I have been searching for the meaning of the "LE" in the name and what I come up with is a 5w-40 LE made by Lubrication Engineers. I don't know if they are related.

Here: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/10/prweb10009149.htm

Approx. 800 miles on this oil with a Bosch filter and so far so good.

any chance you've done an oil analysis with old oil? what are the results?
and are you going to have it done with this oil?

No I haven't and I wasn't planning on it. But you can always take the lead and be the trail blazer.

Actually my little rig has never sounded so good.

I sell parts for a living and over 90% of the diesel oil I sell is Delo. Everyone swears by it. I'm using the synthetic Delo as well and I have had no problems.

Looks good what do you make of Zinc content 0.127% would that make more than 1200 Ppm or so. I did use Delo in my big rig with good results now this particular formutaion boast of good soot handling with EGR engines & CI 4 rating , so my only concern is on zinc content. I am mighty impressed by Bosch DP 3500 filter already have it sitting in garage for next oil change. Thanks.

I have been wondering about this oil. Costco always has for a good price.

I thought the Delo LE line was for "low emissions" applications, i.e. newer diesels...

Chevron Delo® 400 LE SYNTHETIC SAE 5W-40
http://www.deloperformance.com/docs/Del ... 041310.pdf

Purchased from the Super WalMart:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Chevron-Delo- ... g/20896087

Along with a Bosch 3500 Distance plus Oil filter also purchased from WalMart.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Bosch-Distanc ... s/17243925

Along with the Rislone ZDDP additive, purchased from Advanced Auto
http://barsproducts.com/catalog/view/22 ... tment-4401

My CRD has never driven smoother or sounded quieter. And another observation is that I can now hear the distinct sound of the turbo spool at the very slight touch of the pedal, where as before I hardly ever.

I have been using this formulation for the past 1600 miles and I am very impressed.

Report back with your findings if you decide to try it.

I'm on my third oil change after using this. Oil is cleaner but I also have the Eco tune from gd. As posted above the little tractor does run smoother and the turbo is definitely more noticeable but not obnoxious. I change my oil every four thousand miles and I drive 90% freeway.

Anyone have a part number for the Bosch oil filter? I'm going to use the same oil and filter combination, hoping to get this done this week.

Cheers and thanks in advance!

Got lucky and found it at my local Walmart, 20 bucks a gallon, which I believe is cheaper than Costco...

BTW you can get this oil on Amazon.com, its spendy but at least ships free, 33 bucks a gallon, or you can get a case of 4 gallons for 110.00 and free shipping. .

You must live out east. They are the only Walmart's that carry the Delo synthetic. Must be a test region.

My local Wal Mart just started stocking it. I changed over this weekend w/Bosch 3500 EP. Seems like they just started stocking the Bosch 3500 EP also. Maybe a slow distribution. You should be able to look it up on walmart.com and search stores for availability.

Nope, Walmart in Rifle, Colorado. Most of the major parts stores out here carry it as well.

I got mine at Malwart Marysville WA, it was a free ship to store deal and I could not get them to ship to Bellingham as it seemed like deal was for Metro Seattle only.

Changed the oil and Filter (Bosch DP 3500) and it runs smoother than Shell rotella T6 at 40 MPH and over i can not hear the tractor rattle and cold start has improved too. So far happy to switch over to this oil and filter deal.
