Hi KKer's,
I live in the Great White North, where freezing temperatures prevail. I've noticed lately that if I drive my 2008 KK in the morning after warming it up halfway or less (45 degrees Celsius is halfway-normal operating temp is 90-95 degrees Celsius), the auto transmission will fail to engage from a full stop. Or if it does start off, it will shift into neutral instead of shifting into second gear. Then the engine races for a few seconds. so I let off the gas and the transmission shifts into second with a "klunk". This conditon goes away once the engine is fully warmed up. I read somewhere that this condition may be electronic sensor related, rather than a mechanical problem. Haven't had a chance to take it in yet, so any recommendations or similar experiences?

 Never happened with a standard.

Has not happened to me with my KK. But my trucks you'd have rev up the engine to get them moving, when cold.

So, it turned out my transmission was under filled by one litre of fluid. Topped it up and everything seems
normal now. Dealer told me the symptom I noticed is actually a fail-safe feature that kicks in when the transmission fluid drops too low.

Did you do the work or did the dealer? Glad it was something simple.
