Hello good and honorable Jeep diesel heads,

Unfortuantely as the subject line hints, I totaled out my 2006 Liberty CRD last week in a white-out highway accident. I am pysically fine, as were all human parties involved. Thank God! The mongrel, has damage all up and down the drivers side and the insurance company has deemed it a total loss, but I have not gotten a settlement back from them, or what the salvage buy-back will be. I can't in my right mind sign up for this to be my daily driver, or be getting another CRD.

I do want to pass the love on to someone else in this community that can make good use of her heart, and maybe some of the rest of her parts, becuase it would have blown up years ago with out the help of all of you. I don't want to be in the used car salvage business, as I have a good full time job already. I would be looking for someone to buy the complete salvage, so if someone has interest please let me know by PM.

I will be going to clean it out tomorrow, and I will take pictures and post them here. As I stated earlier, it is a Silver 2006 Liberty CRD Limited It has every option except I beilive the EVIC. It currently has 73,000 miles on it, and has had a GDE Eco and Trans tune on it since about 48,000. Off road mod done since purchase @ 38,000. I have run Rotella T6 and a Wix or Mobile One filter at 6,000 OCI. I inspected the turbo at the last oil change and the shaft had almost undetectable shaft play. I belive the engine is in very healthy condition and would be a perfect candidate for a replacement, or swap project.

Let's see some photos, it will help us somewhat determine the extent of the damage, usable parts and or possible repair.

Glad you're OK and sorry for the loss.

I too totaled one, so I can sympathize. Glad all the humans are uninjured. Proper perspective is key. Vehicles can be recycled, humans can't.

Well, I guess the humans can be parted out, :frankie: but you get my point.

Glad everyone is OK - as has been said, that is the main thing. The Liberty body is a tough little truck that gave its life to save yours. Good design, at least in that respect.

Here are the pictures I took yesterday. I will know what the buy out is tomorrow, and then I can let you all know how much I'm asking.

Link is not working dude. Make sure it is a public folder, shared, and you have the correct link.

Wow, they totaled that? It does not look too bad. I think that is a simple fix... that is, unless there is damage elsewhere that cannot be seen? I'd get a salvage title, and then fix it... or, if you have not already accepted, argue with them to fix it. Get several estimates. I am sure you can easily find silver body parts, so that may save a bit right there on paintwork.

I bought it with a salvage title thee years ago because the engine was swapped into a V6 gasser body. With that being the case, the overall value of the vehicle takes a big hit, and it takes much less to total it out. If I had the money to keep the salvage and make it my toy car, I would, but I really need a more dependable daily driver. I am pretty certain that I am going to be getting a used ecoboost F-150.

Ahh, that would certainly hurt the value...
