I'm tired of the cloth seats in my 06 CRD. I've read here that the 02-04 leather/electric are more comfortable. I have been searching for the seats but the ones I am finding say "without air bag". I'm assuming they are talking about the airbag found in some later model seats and that this seat will still have whatever connections are needed for my Liberty? I have non-electric seats in mine. Will these work if I can find them?

Thanks!

They must be referring to the sensor in the seat to sense if there is an occupant in the passenger seat....early KJs did not have this sensor. You may be able to over-ride the wiring so that the airbag will deploy for both driver and passenger in an accident or you may be able to move the sensor from your existing seat to the new one.

You may be able to get the electric seats to work in your Jeep....you will need to check the circuit diagrams for the wiring and possibly the BCM/Junction block will need some added fuses or relays and the BCM may need some re-programming. :?

The leather in my 15 year old Audi looks like new.
The leather in my '06 Jeep is cracking. :grim:

Re-upholster?

Driver seat side panel?? They all do that. It is a vinyl panel. Mine has 3 small cracks in it.

Reupholstering is not as good an option as I have heard the seats from 02-04 are much more comfortable. So hopefully I can make them work. Appreciate the insight on the wiring. I will search more and see what I can find about that.

I used different (limited) 05 seats in my sport (I wanted power) but I will agree that the earlier seats are more comfortable. Should have gone that route :(

The problem I have with the seats is that they are so darn flat.
The foam is good & firm, but if only they had a little more bucket to them.
Maybe raise the front edge/lip (or drop the butt) about 1-1/2" might do the trick.

Do the earlier leather seats sit up as high as the 05 seats? I have my butt adjusted all the way down and the front almost down but I feel like i'm still looking through the top of the windscreen. I'm only 5'11"! My tj was opposite, had to put risers in the darn thing. Guess I just have to get use to it. I really like the 2004 WJ cloth seats, for some reason they are super comfy for my butt.
