Jeep Liberty Limited 2006:
Just noticed that the plastic surrounding the left front interior door handle is cracking.
Is this a common occurrence? Looks like the door panel might need to be replaced unless the cracking can be repaired. I've had success fixing other plastic parts with 3M 08101 Structural Adhesive.
Finding paint to match the door panel might be a challenge.

Is there an aftermarket pull cup replacement?

This is not just a cosmetic problem, since the handle is hinged to the cup.

Dorman has a replacement door handle. The installation kit includes a bit to cut the melted plastic
connectors, and screws and super glue to reinstall the old pull cup after attaching the handle.
So if I can find a dark khaki pull cup, I'll be in business.

Ordered new trim panel from Moparpartsonline: $216.

Very weak handle design.

Someone should sell an aftermarket handle kit which includes a metal-not plastic cup. Cup should have a chrome finish to avoid having to match trim panel colors. Dorman missed the boat by selling just the handle part, since the handle hinge which is likely to break, is molded into the back of the plastic cup and a new handle can't be installed if the hinge is broken.
