Hey guys!

This scared me a bit, my steering asist stopped working today while I was taking a slow left turn and crossing a little obstacle in the street.

My steering wheel was so hard to move, just like when your Libby is off and cold and you try to move the wheel, I tried to left and right turn when I parked aside, and I couldn't, so I turned off the Libby and then turned it on again, and it was working again flawlessly, like nothing happened. :? :?

I don't want to imagine that happening on high speed.

I checked the steering fluid 1 week ago, and it was fine, I guess I'll have to check it again tomorrow.

For sure! Maybe there was a bubble that caused a vapor lock, but this is a strange one.
Ign on/off should not have made a difference. Maybe it is a sticking valve in the PS pump?
I would have to clean my seat if that ever happened at speed.
You got lucky with the warning sign.

I'd flush it and replace the ATF4. Cheap insurance.

Did it make any strange noises as it happened?

You would have never really noticed it at speeds above 30mph or faster.

This happened to me when I had my truck before I got my KK. Randomly killed the steering assist and I killed the engine after finding a good place to start. Never had it happen again, through 30,000 miles, even though I didn't adjust anything. Got lucky I guess :|

"You got lucky with the warning sign". Wise words.. Could be a PS pump problem, if thats the case, my pocket is going to cry

Sounds good to me, is there any "How-To" for this?

I've been a while on LOST and never found it

Yea, I guess all trucks are machines, and machines are suseptible to fail, 1 fail doesn't mean there is something broke. I'll have to wait for a 2nd fail to be sure and do something serious about it.

Power steering fluid is the #1 most neglected fluid in any vehicle, the next is brake fluid.

#3 must be blinker fluid.

Sorry guys haven't been on in a while but I was pulling into a spot at stop n shop and it just stopped working and was a pain to steer and after I parked it I got out and checked everything and nothing seemed wrong so I thought whatever ill just go back on the forum when I get home and see what's up with this. Later on in the week I made kind of a tight u turn in a t intersection(back road so I'm all good lol)and half way through the whole thing died no power no nothing had to start it back up and everything.
