That picture looks like open heart surgery!! Glad you got it working again. You had plenty of help in the shop, which is a big benefit!

Soo, I took it for a lnger drive today. The MAF is unplugged, but when I read the codes, I also get P0299. Also, there is plenty of power on the low end, but after about 25 MPH, it seems like it runs out of steem, takes forever to accelarate. While this is my first time driving the Liberty CRD, I own 2 Sprinters, so I know what a diesel feels like.
I read that the code P0299 is usually related to EGR, would that cause loss of power? I cleaned the FCV, but did not do much with the EGR. Runs really smooth, starts no problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Is the turbo spooling up. It should pull hard. These CRD's do have some torque. As for sprinters VS the Jeep KJ i have never driven a sprinter. But i have driven a jeep GC CRD with that sprinter engine. It has much more power than the KJ.

Check both your turbo hoses for leaks and also check the hose clamps. Sometimes after things heat up/cool down you get a little slop where there wasn't any at assembly.

Ok, now I'm pissed but also kinda happy that it wasn't a bigger problem. Based on what I've read on this forum, from other posts, I purchased the Samco hose kit fro ID Parts. The kit came with 4 new clamps. Well, one of those clamps is too big for the intake manifold, and does not tighten it enough. The result, the hose popped off of the intake, and I drove it without the turbo (at leadt now I know what that feels like). I. Am 100% certain that i used the clamps in the correct location, two were bigger and two were smaller, just like the hoses. Lucky for me, the local parts store had a clam that was a bit smaller, and I got it fixed. Huh!

That's good news. Sure did sound like you had no turbo. Let me know how the power is VS your sprinter?
