I recently got a used set of the mopar rock rails for temp use until I get good ones. I have all the bolts and brackets but I did not get any nutserts. Just called the stealership and they said they dont make them anymore and can't even order any. So is there any other way to mount these rails or can I get nutserts anywhere? Called a couple autoparts stores and they didn't even know what a nutsert was..... hope I didn't buy these rails for nothing.

Some call them riv nuts or just rivets, I went with a standard size from automotive fastners and grade 8 bolts.

I guess Im confused as to what nutserts to get then. The hole in the frame where you would put the nutsert isn't round it is the shape of a bolt head. I've been looking and can't seem to find any that would fit that shape. Could I drill the holes to be round then get round nutserts and upgrade the bolts? Honestly wish there wasn't pre drilled holes then I could just use self tapping bolts.

I drilled the holes, not sure it'll hold as well as a hex, but good enough for me for now till I get some serious rock rails.

What size bolt did you use then? Still the same M8 x 1.25?

No, I measured the hex hole and got as close to it as I could in a standard size and bought the bolts to fit the inserts.
