I've been searching online about all theses ome lifts and I'm having a hard time actually finding them or much info on them. Do I just need to buy the ome springs and whatever extended shocks i want (can I use stock for awhile). Do the springs actually add lift? I'm just looking to to slightly lift and level my KK with 66k miles. Would something like the daystar 2" , over the top lift it looks like, work just fine. Or can I use the daystar now and add the ome later. Any help or suggestions, I'm not looking to spend thousands on a lift like a jba. Just something to get around offroad on the trails when I want to nothing too extreme.

Not finding anything ???
TONS of info on here and other forums
BUT first STAY AWAY from any type of spacer lift , if you were brand new then possibly for a short time but not with 66,000 miles
OME does provide lift yes , they will give you 2.25-2.5 inches of lift over new stock height
ALSO install new shocks, you need them for the rear anyways since longer ones are needed and while you have the front tore apart would be silly not to upgrade to better ones
JeepinByAl has all kinds of kits from 750- up to 3500-4000
below is the OME complete kit, says 1.5 inches but we all know it gives you more like mentioned above
OME 1.50" lift kit KK
Regular Price: $795.82
Special Price: $750.00

Okay I didn't so much mean I didn't find any info, just more of people installing them and reccomending them. Nothing about the actual lift on them and such. Just seen all the kits on the rockfather site and the expensive jba ones. So the ome kit from rockfather or jeepinbyal would do the job I want. Or ordering the springs from a site and getting extended bilestein shocks which I prefer. And a big no to rock krawler and daystar I see a lot. Like I said I don't need anything extreme, just a little more would be nice

Alright I plan on getting the ome springs then. Any sugestions on the shocks and are part numbees for them. I was thinking rancho or bilestein depending on price right now. Or would the ome shocks be the best to use with them

OME/ Bilstein are about the same, ride is about the same as well
Rancho, sure they are cheaper but use the OMEs or Bilsteins much better

If you order the OME through JBA you'll get springs and shocks. What I also did was got a .25" Clevis spacer to make sure the front leveled with the back. I'm sitting at 22" all around and am at about 2.5 inches on lift. Also, you'll want to upgrade the upper control arms. I don't think you'll have rubbing or bumping issues with the OME if you don't, but it is worth it. When I put my OME on (which is worth every penny) I didn't want to have to take everything apart again to put the UCA's on. Just my 2 cents.

I just wanted to make sure I order the right stuff here in a month or so.
Ome springs and shocks -
http://jeepinbyal.com/jeep-liberty-2008 ... it-kk.html

Ome springs and bilstein
http://jeepinbyal.com/jeep-liberty-2008 ... rings.html
http://jeepinbyal.com/jeep-liberty-2008 ... ar-kk.html
http://jeepinbyal.com/jeep-liberty-2008 ... strut.html
http://jeepinbyal.com/jeep-liberty-2008 ... shock.html

Now granted I work at a ford stealership and will do this all myself and get the a arms later when need be. And get bumpstops and clevis to level it out

I just got a revtek and rancho shocks from a friends friend for next to nothing just to use and play with till I can afforde the true lift. Does anyone know the part# for the correct rancho shocks so I can make sure he had the right ones he gave me. Worse that can happen I guess is they go bad and I take off. Honestly no money lost in putting them on

Throw the Revtech on Ebay or something and just get a full spring lift
That is the worst that there is out there almost, look at what you have and how it gives you lift
Theres been a ton of folks who went with a spacer and a month later saying they wished they had done it once and been done with it.

As my dear sweet wife says, "Bure Aghali" Swahili saying translated "cheap is expensive"

No offense tommudd but something constructive would be helpful rather then its crap crap crap. Ive had some many more friendly people on nitro forums than i have here on this one. Any time it seems anyone even mentions spacer lift they are the devil and stupid. Most of use cant go out and spend that kind on money and dont need or want something like that. Just because its what we want, have, or afford we stupid and its junk. Where as on other forums its okay thats cool i personally dont like it or someone else did, i suggest this or that or maybe doing something better down the road. But no around here its crap crap crap your a Beavis junk it and go spend money on my stuff. Now i do plan on doing a suspension lift down the road but f*** me for using something i have and want to try out till i can do something better

Just hate to see people waste time and money
I tell it like it is,
Sorry I don't sugar coat it and make it all nice and warm and pink fuzzys
It is what it is
Read through the tons of threads, I've been playing with these since 04 have seen quite a few go cheap and come back switching things out so passing along what I have seen/heard
It took me over two months of slowly buying parts when I first did mine back in early 05 but I did a full spring and have never looked back.
So for you, Have fun with your new lift

First hand experience. ...I had a daystar lift on my first KJ. I was 100% against tom. (Joined after i got the daystar lift) but I thought it rode good. Until I scored all four OME springs from the local junkyard for $100 KJ was a 2007 and had 60k on it when it rolled over. Long story short I changed out the spacer lift for the used ome/rancho set up stright out of the totalled KJ.
Wow was all I kept saying for weeks. It rode sooo much better and handled like a dream. Put 100k on that KJ and sold it for a used but very nice stock 06.
Right now I have Ironman and billstein shocks all way around on my 06. I would never waste my money or time on a spacer lift even if it was free.
The daystar lift wasn't bad by no means it got my lift I wanted for a while But I did notice my springs were sagging way faster than others with factory suspension. And after 30k miles it rode like dog crap and way aways hitting bumpstops on bumps only 3/4 inch above factory hight when I took it off for the OME. I kicked myself becuase here I was taking apart the front end again......just my life experience.

He is being constructive. He may come off as a richard sometimes, but that's just because he's being blunt and honest. The man has lifted more than his fair share of trucks, especially Libertys. He knows his stuff.

Aside from that, you're claiming spacer lifts are cheaper. That is true, until you factor in needing new shocks. Front will always be the same height as stock, so you're good there. But once you lift the rear you WILL need longer shocks. If you don't get new shocks that fit you will top out the shocks on even the smallest bumps. So by the time you factor in the shocks you're within range of a full OME lift.

As for you wanting to try a spacer lift, most of us won't care. We will give our opinions(the general consensus being save and do a full suspension), but in the end it is your truck, do as you please. Some people just rather do it once and be happy than do it twice and spend more money than what was needed.

You know, for the number of times that questions like this pop up, I'm amazed we don't have a sticky for it yet. Something like; "BIG LIFT KIT THREAD: ALL YOUR LIFT QUESTIONS ANSWERED HERE" And then a page of pro/con bullet-pointed posts with each lift kit system, cheap to expensive. Would save a TON of time answering the basic "which should I get" type posts.

Honestly, I'd do it myself but my knowledge base is inadequate to the task. I suppose I could just spend time searching the forums and cribbing info from other posts, but I think it would be best if a real pro like Tommudd put it together.

What do you guys think?

Sounds good to me but... how else is Tom supposed to get to 30k posts?
