I have the Yakima load warrior with extension and 55" crossbars attached via lowriders. The noice is not an issue up to 65mph, above that you start to note the noise specially if there are cross winds. I cannot coment on the gas mileage change since I put it on since the first day I owned the libby.

I had this same setup since 2002, in an Isuzu Trooper which I sold to buy the liberty. The basket hangs a little bit in the back. It looks pretty good and it is a well-made product. In this past easter I placed a bag of tools, camping gear, recovery equipment (chain, shovel, hand winch, sand tracks, etc.) plus 2 kayaks and took a 1k miles long trip to southern Mexico with some moderate offroading included. No problems with the rack.

Need a Lift

I have the BVG rack sitting on home grown cross bars, the bottom of the rack sits even with the factory bars in the middle, looks about 2 inches lower than Gordos plus I have a home grown wind jammer on the front of it, without that it was very noisy! Last weekend put three tires up on the rack with 14 2x2x8s drove over 250 miles and got 1.3 MPG less than normal and that was running about 70 /75 a lot of the way
