Picked it up from the jeep dr and they tell me that the rear tru trac is defective :banghead: and they ordered another one. They let me take it home, sounds more like an improperly set up ring and pinion to me :dizzy: The whining noise is very loud. Hopefully they're right and the new part fixes it.

I changed out the cabin air filters today. This is what they look like after 13800 miles. That junk is thankfully not in my lungs. Is it worth the $25 to replace this filter every 12,000 miles? Heck, yeah. :2cents:

Oops, the domain name I was using to house my LOST photos just ceased to exist :dead:, so I will be migrating all of my Jeep photos to live on Photobucket.com. This means that the links to my photos in my earlier posts are broken.

Just let me know if you need me to fix any of my broken photo links. I'd be happy to update links in specific threads on request, but unfortunately I don't have time to go back through the last couple of years of my posts to fix them all!

Cheers,
--LFH

Even though I get a lot of gear noise (it has quieted down a lot) my KK handles completely different, in a great way. I feel more in control, even on loose gravel and the 4.10's gave my power back that I lost by increasing the tire size.
For anyone considering Trutracs for your KK I'd highly recommend them. The brake lock diff is the perfect compliment for them as there are conditions where you could get wheel spin. Just a side note, my rear brakes were toast with 33000 (about) miles. I contribute that to the brake engaging the loose wheel when the brake lock kicked in. It hasn't activated yet after the DTT install, and spin both tires in gravel. :pepper:

I have 20,500 miles on mine and had to replace all brake pads and rear rotors this weekend. Thanks to the jeep trying to brake the wheels when I have....fun.

It seems as though the brake lock system isn't complete without a limited slip in the rear at a minimum.
Again, the ball was dropped. I get it about the cost but that shouldn't have been an issue if it were an available option.

I started by busing tables, then moved on to hosting...now I run the board at my restaurant and am the "head host." Making ~$350 for a ~30 hour week and no expenses other than gas and my girlfriend it works out lol

I'm ready to buy my lift, but I think front springs are on backorder. Idk gotta check eventually.

Had a little photoshoot with my friend yesterday with his Subaru. I'll post some of the pictures when I receive them.

WELP I plasti dip'd my hood today... 4 cans later and it came out fuzzy... :banghead:

Turns out it was a little to hot and humid to be applying BUT I think I know a way to fix it

Left it on for the moment and will paint more when the dip arrives. This is how it turned out

The final result ended up fuzzy with little "burs" all over the dip. So in a final effort to save all the time I spent today
I'm going to buy a few more cans spray a heavy wet layer over top and smooth it with my hand. I did a test on a small patch and it worked out so i'll do that process and then spray over with one last wet coat. All and all i probably will have around 10 coats on this lol a little over kill but it wont be hard to peel off :ROTFL:

Our family lives in Dallas but we are also headed to Lubbock where we are both from. We are competing in the half ironman there next weekend. We are eventually moving back to Dallas when our current lease is up.
