Somewhere in Chrysler's design flaws I would imagine.

Just kidding. Stay tuned for people more educated on engines then I am...

Cut the guy some slack. All of the members in the CRD section own an engine that knocks.

Possibly... But that is a design FEATURE. It lets you know that the engine is working and powerful.

There have been more than a couple sad newspaper stories about people dying at home after accidentally leaving their cars running in the garage after they went inside. Obviously, the engine clatter is a safety feature of diesel engines.

At the same time, there was a story about a poor soul who actually wanted to commit suicide this way, and ran a hose from the exhaust into a window of the car and sat there until the fire department found him. Hours later. With only a mild headache.

He had a VW TDI, fueled with biodiesel. It wasn't producing enough CO to kill him!

Speaking of CO, I'm getting plenty of CO and particulate matter today. I can see the DC10s, C130s, Chinooks and Crashhawks flying overhead dropping slurry and water just 3 miles from my home.

Quite an airshow. We'll be fine, there isn't much fuel between here and the fire as I type, 10,000 gallons of slurry is being repeatedly dropped on a county highway to prevent it jumping over to our side.

Wow, with the fire work so close, I'm surprised they haven't ordered an evacuation for your area.

Stay safe!

We are on voluntary evacation orders but the area 3 blocks north of me is a mandatory evacuation area. They had to draw a line somewhere.

Here's hoping that the action stays well on the other side of that line, @Drewd.
