foam may not be a problem ,but the discoloration of the plastic fender flares is,in my stone white you can tell where it has kicked out on the flares.wont wax out, cant find a cleaner that will clean it.the 2500 does have a overfill drain, behind the fuel door that i wish was on the liberty

I have spilled lots diesel diesel on the fender flares of our Stone White Sport and it's never damage the flares.

Ok, I have a Sport with the dark gray almost flat black bumpers and fender flares. I guess it is another reason for having a sport.

well im sure there are many reasons to own a sport, price probably the best, limited are not worth the difference and the limited's resale value isnt much different than the sport. but i really like that leather, sunroof, chrome grill, sirrus radio, power heated seats kinda thing. of course i didnt buy it to forge river or climb mountains, but if i have to i can do it in style

Hmmm spilt some on mine the other day, was hiding in the nozzle,
wiped it off with the bug washer bucket and wiped it down with
a cloth I carry, no stains on mine for some reason.

Must be the Stone White. I have a Silver one and have spilt #2 and B100 on it and no reaction at all.

Yes, but isn't your flare painted the same color as your JLL?

Just a guess, but we may be talking painted plastic versus painted metal. Or it may be tinted or colored plastic on the fender flares, such that any fuel can soak directly into the plastic.

I opted for the Sport for two reasons. First, as mentioned, was price. Second, I'd seen a couple late model Cherokees with the body color fender flares at work, and the paint/tinting/whatever had weathered down to where you could see the underlying white plastic or primer in several spots.

I always take the water hose and wash down the side of the beast after fueling, just in case I dribbled some and didn't notice it.

So, that is the same primer, paint, clear coat as the rest on the Jll (Jeep Liberty Limited). It would seem that the discoloration would be the same all over unless there was a reaction to the plastic in the flare being different to the metal in the body. :?

Anyway it shouldn't matter and the warranty should cover it. 8)

Yes, but the paint should resist discoloring with the available fuels that can be used. #2 Diesel and approved B5. Those should not affect the paint. If they do it should be the manufacturers responsibilty to repair/fix paint so it doesn't.

I don't see any difference between B5 and B100 on affecting the paint.

Have you tried waxing the spot or washing the inside of the flare?? Or Both?

Over the years, I have seen diesel fuel leave yellow marks on everything from painted surfaces to stainless steel. A strong degreaser, paint thinner, or sometimes laqure thinner (don't do this to your plastic fenders) will usually cut it. Some car wax products are solvent based like Nu-Finish or bug & tar remover that should also work. Always best to wash the stuff off at the station before it dries even if you have to use a paper towel and some washer solution.
