Isn't this the code that will be thrown either with

1)MAF Unplugged
2)MAF bad
3) EGR bad

1140 is the EGR failure IIRC.

P0101 is simply a dirty air filter, dirty MAF sensor, or dirty MAP sensor. I believe P0101 would throw if you unplugged the MAF sensor for the ORM mod though, absolutely.

Change your air filter, clean your MAF (Noob Guide, Wafer sensor that plugs into air intake box, rectangle) sensor with non-chlorinated brake parts cleaner, do the same with your MAP sensor for good measure.

The easiest check would be to simply remove the CAC hose and see if there's ANY play in the shaft, just reach inside and pull it front to back, and also side to side. If there's any noticeable movement in either direction, I would seek replacement ASAP.

Where is this Jeep located?

I throw this code because my MAF sensor is unplugged.

Why would someone get this code if it was plugged in with a new MAF sensor?

I had this same code. It was a dirty air filter for me. I replaced it and the CEL went away shortly.

P0102 is what comes from the MAF being unplugged. I've never heard of getting P0101 from that. Per the DTC guide:

P0101 Mass air flow (MAF) sensor/volume air flow (VAF) sensor – range/performance problem Intake leak/blockage, MAF/VAF sensor
P0102 Mass air flow (MAF) sensor/volume air flow (VAF) sensor – low input Wiring short to ground, MAF/VAF sensor, ECM

I could see P0101 being caused by an intake restriction like a dirty air filter, or a malfunctioning EGR system.

3 things to check and if you do all 3, 99.9% chance, code will clear.

(1) Buy MAF cleaner and spray it out.
(2) Replace airfilter

(3) Check intake "clean air-hose" from filter to turbo for tear where it connects to turbo. I had a tear in my intake recently and it tripped the same code....all fixed now. I replace my airfilter every 5k miles to reduce MAF issues. A little overkill but airfilters are cheap compared to a turbo or MAF sensor.

Hopefully it was just a clogged air filter.

P0101 is set when the measured air flow rate deviates from the model in the ecm. It is a drift detection model. Most often the air flow is less than expected. We also see this code when the rocker arms are starting to wear. With failing rocker arms the valves will not open as much as they should and thus less air flow. Hope this is not your issue. GDE

Hi guys

Quick question, I have CEL with p0101 through the elm327 device. The 3 on off procedure give me p0110. I changed already the MAP sensor. I cleaned everything as per Noobs guide. Now in Italy the maf sensor it is too expensive. I did a couple search on the web and I got this:

http://www.ebay.it/itm/151126550654?redirect=mobile saying 53013733AB, 4515688, 3L3A12B579BA. Basically our maf is the same of ford focus maverick etc. But then if I search as 4515688 there are thousand of web site at very low price but I figured out this maf is the AFH60M-19 while our one is AFH70M-49. So not sure......

I looked for AFH70M-49 and, this is fantastic, if I search for AFH70 without 49 lots of opportunity to save money if I search with AFH70M-49 only the expensive our one!

Can help me? Which are the difference with all these maf? Which one I should order?

After 3 months I end up discovering only the Mopar MAF Is suitable for KJ. I hope this will be useful to somebody.

Ciao
