I have some ideas on a better oil vapour separation puck (On the rocker cover at rear RHS of motor). - aiming at improving on to totally exclude the need for ProVent & other solutions.
Am aware that some of the high end of the brains trust had thoughts on this early on but cannot find anything meaningful.

Can any of the old hands point me in a direction with any recollections/valid insights please.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you kindly. That thread appears to be a big read which will probably flow considerably better when the nonsense is culled out. I am really appreciative that you went to the trouble to be so helpful. The extraneous material explains why I had trouble searching for it.
Will print it and start red penning - see where it leads.
Cheers and thanks again

Yeah, over 50% of the posts where off topic! Maybe copy and paste into a Word document and then start cutting! I have seen pictures of Oldnavy's design so there is probably more threads out there.

Oldnavy never posted pix here - but if you Google Oldnavy and TDI you get

ATXKJ thanks to you also.
I had done similar searches but the results were not as revealing as yours.
I see a cast inside (complex shape) inside an SS or MS casing that would bolt in place with the existing screws.
Might prove to be pie in the sky....but worth a try as I'm not satisfied with the options in current use on our vehicles.
There must be a better way that is more tidy than these untidy fitting add-ons.
That word t/f and cull was an interesting excercise - some 8800 words down to 2 1/2 thousand - much easier read but it did narrow it down to only a few contributors. Sadly it still didn't head anywhere. Onward with the searches.

If this didn't amount to anything I'll pursue for my own benefit. Seems it came to a result for the TDI but not the CRD VM motor.
I don't want to tread on any toes, hence my caution.

A clean looking and working ProVent is a nice fix. My :2cents:

Fair enough - each to their own but I didn't think I asked that.
I need the space!
I willingly give that oversized ProVent the flick.
There is a better way and I will engineer it.
I happen to need to do this.
I can solve two issues in the solution to one. My :2cents:
