Got my Duratracs today. 245/75-16. So far I love them, then again I drove for less than 5 minutes with them and with a front end out of alignment. I'm having it align tomorrow and I can't wait. The Jeep can finally stop being a lawn ornament again. I'm dropping it off when the shop opens up at 7am. Cannot wait!!!!

Oh yeah, before pics or it didn't happen. I'll have them tomorrow, or Thursday the latest.

Yesterday I fitted a set of Infinity Wheels and Kumho KL71 MTs for the weekends, also went for 245/75R16. Plan to make up some sliders very soon.Image

Had it aligned. I'm still getting a clunking even when driving straight. :banghead: gotta figure out why

Edit:
So I went out and measured. Sitting at 21.5 driver front, and 22 passenger front.

How bad are those CV angles? Any ideas what the clunking might be? I went with 927s, 1/4 spacer plate, 3/8 clevis, als a-arms, 731s and 2 extra isos per side in the rear with bilstein shocks all around.

I think that you uploaded the same picture for both CV's... but the angle looks fine. The clunking could be the top nut on the strut tower not being tight

That I did, fixed now lol. Anyways, figured it out. Turns out we forgot to tighten 1 of the sway bar bolts all the way. She rides nice. I do notice the power drop now. Just hoping my mileage doesn't go completely South on me lol. I think highway won't take a hit as hard as the city driving.

Power drop for using taller tires?, Which tire size were u using before and after? Is it so bad that makes you regret going bigger?

Btw, Nice pictures, I like how the that front looks.

Keep in mine that when you check your mileage, it'll be incorrect until your speedometer is calibrated. 4.10's will do better than correct your power loss with 245/75-16 tires, even with 31" tires you should be on the better side of corrected. :2cents:

Found a nice secluded dirt pile (starts off at about 30 degrees and increases a bit more) to play on top of until game fish and parks showed up... That was awkward, but at least he was understanding of the urge to blow off steam after a day in the office.

I had stock, 225/75-16 now I have 245/75-16 Duratracs
It's not too bad. If you never drove the truck before you wouldn't know. I don't regret it at all(well I guess until I see my mileage drop :-)r )

Ted, what were you averaging before the regear? As long as I'm around 14-15 I'll be fairly happy.

Oh and yes, I know to correct. I'm 4% off with these tires.

I've never gotten more than 16 mpg, 12 before regear and 15 the last time I checked. There was a lot of friction because the pinion wasn't set correctly and I think I have the same problem with the front. It'll most likely be between 14 and 16 when everything's corrected and broken in.
I had a HUGE power loss before the regear, my engine would ping while towing our camper, that's gone now.

I was cruising up the interstate (I-78 W) and a construction truck cut me off in the middle lane. A rock the size of a ping pong ball came off the trailer, bounced on the road, and then struck the windshield :dizzy: I was on the way to the 4x4 shop to get my lift check-up and to go through it with the mechanics

Road trip tomorrow to Long Beach Island for a few days, so gonna make sure I look over the Jeep a few times to be sure it's a safe ride. Can't stand when I'm on the parkway and 1 out of every 10 vehicles has a brake light out...
