I'm putting together a lift and was wondering what the strengths and weaknesses of the shocks and coils are. I have heard good things about all of them, but I haven't seen details about what each would work best for. I'm looking for around 1.5-2" of lift with a good ride and was planning on getting the OME lift, but if one of the other brands would work better I'd want to know.

I went with OME 927/731 with Bilstein shocks all around. I also did 3/8" clevis and 1/4" spacer plate with 2 extra isos in the rear. I love the ride. It's stiffer, but not too bad. I also don't have much extra weight on my KK, so with the heavy duty springs it does seem a bit bouncier. I know with weight in it she rides nice and smooth.

The Bilsteins I'm running front and rear are the nicest riding shocks I've had yet. While my Rancho 9000 remote adjustables(LJ) were much better than their 5000 series(XJ), these Bilsteins are world class.

I've got no complaints with the OME springs and shocks.

Do you know what the part numbers for the Bilsteins are? I saw a post somewhere on here with all of that info, but now I can't find it.

How much does the ride and handling change for the above shocks over the Factory marshmallow sticks ?

My 2012 handles absolutely HORRID as it is right now! It only has 6,900 miles on it.

The OME shocks are very stiff, but work well.

I got the heavy duty fronts, and 2.5" lift rears from Jeepinbyal. I'll see if I can find the part numbers for them though.

i was told by JBA the bilsteins are shorter than the OME and the OME are matched better to the springs.

Most likely right off the JBA website.

The front are the same as stock, the rears will be 1.5" longer for there normal shocks and 2.5" longer for there extended length shocks(has "L" on the end of the part#).Found OME's to be way to soft,Bilstiens give a much better ride, but the old Rancho RSX series was the best ride out of them all but the discontinued that line.

Just remember Bilstien does not warranty any shock not designed for a lifted application and they have no lift shock(front or rear) for the KJ.

Within the bilsteins there are a couple different ones that work though with different valving. I'll see if I can find pn's here in a second.

Here's a list of part numbers, lengths, and valving for bilstein 5125 series shocks
http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/bilstein_5125.cfm

The 185552's are what I run with 3" and of lift and 1" of bumpstop and work well.
The 104645's would also work but would give a softer ride.

I'm assuming the 104645's would sag more with more weight?
