So they're junk then? That's kind of disappointing. I've always held JBA in high regard for the quality parts they sell. seems odd that they would sell junk gear. Are we sure this is the same junk one that RRO was selling? Or is this their own design?
My problem is that with buying a house I simply cannot afford even the OME lift, but I really want to get a lift so I can go on a couple of the offroad trips my local 4x4 club makes. Even a cheap "throwaway" one that I can use for 6 months to a year and then replace with a proper OME lift down the road would be OK.
Would this one be OK as a temporary lift, or should I be looking at something else?
I think JBA sells the Teraflex kit. They seem to be a bit shorter and may make a difference.
That said;
It'll work but understand that you can only use stock springs, the front shocks will top out on large bumps and dips and you'll have to grind off the top of the coilover bolts to get it to fit. The ride isn't very good, you'll be a little tippy 2" higher with the squishy stock springs. You'll also need Al's upper control arms to get a decent alignment and you'll still need longer shocks for the rear and bumpstops all around. If you're close to Akron I'll give you mine but I'm still using the rear spacers until I put the shorter replacements in.
To answer your question, yes they are junk.
