AS papaindigo stated, there are four hoses, two large ones 5/8 heater hoses going to the EGR cooler, and two small ones that cool the EGR valve itself. If you disconnect the both big ones, the small ones are out of the picture. Before doing away with my EGR and coolant lines, I used regular old Gates 3/8 fuel line hose for the small ones as it is rated for a much higher pressure than your cooling system will ever see if you want to retain them.
As to doing away with the EGR cooling lines completely, I could not get to the one going into the side of the block as it is way up under the intake side and would require removing several things to get to it. Instead, I just cut and plugged the rubber hose going to the block. The other one comes up and goes across the top of the motor to a "Y" connection just above the thermostat. I removed the "Y" and used a connector to connect the hoses back together. I then removed the metal pipe going across the the top of the motor and all associated hoses on the EGR. One day I will go back and plug the block connection.
Once you blank off the EGR, you really need to remove the flow plate in FCV so it will not cause problems with the EGR gone.
