Back from the shop and the muffler is in . It is very nice and you can feel the difference. I added pictures before/after in my profile.

Here is a picture of the side exit exhaust and no muffler in its current state:

I'm going to replace the flexipipe with mandrel-bent pipe...if it ever gets here (ordered 3/14, expected delivery 5/30). I might end up putting the muffler back in because it will make a perfect coupler between the converter and the mandrel-bent pipe.

I finished the exhaust tonight. I ended up putting the muffler back on because it made a good coupler between the catalytic converter and exhaust pipe. Here is a sound clip of the Magnaflow exhaust for a comparison to the open exhaust. The Magnaflow is more rumbly, the open exhaust more growly.

Here are pictures of the entire process: http://liberty.eurekaboy.com/magnaflow.htm

Hey Stan, quick question...

Seeing as how your exhaust is now running out the side, are your rims, tires, etc getting crapped on from the diesel exhaust? Also, did you remove the remaining exhaust pipe that leads out to the rear of the vehicle?

BTW, about half my mother's family lives in Shoals, IN nearby to Bedford

Sounds pretty nice guys! Once my CRD is off warranty I'm going to do some nice mods. I'm hoping for an exhaust company to put out an exhaust that sounds like the big diesels. I like to hear the turbo whine and a nice deep rumble like a semi is nice. Would love to hear the exhaust with the vehicle driving around, accelerating, etc.

I haven't noticed any buildup from the exhaust. That was a concern I had when I did the side exit.

Yes, the remaining exhuast is long gone. Shoals is a nice little town.

No, knock on wood, my CRD has been trouble free for 11 months.
