Got $400 bucks to lend me so I can purchase them? :-)r
Almost saved enough pennies so I can buy some tires. Leaning towards BFGoodrich All Terrain.

Looking back I would have gone with DuraTracs. A/T's have gotten me in some sticky situations on the trail, by myself, and with the sun setting

This hasn't seen the trails yet. Just need a more capable tire. Had a pretty nice scare last year sliding sideways in the snow and ending up in a ditch. No body damage, but I'd think an all terrain tire would have handled it better. I still need to do more research and be certain I get the right tire for my needs. The member Drednot had me looking at some Michelins for a little while.

I had BFG all terrains on my Grand Cherokee and loved them they are a beefy meaty all terrain that has good road manners and does well offroad.

I will however tell you that they don't perform as well in the snowy/icy type conditions as say a duratrac would but it seems just about everyone ends up picking that tire :ROTFL:

I loved my BFG's they are a great tire, had zero complaints about their performance in anything I threw them up against.

I can go places in the snow with the Duratracs in two wheel drive that took 4 wheel with BFG ATs . BFG ATs used to be a pretty good tread design for its time, but that was 8-10 years ago. Now there are much better all around tires to choose from
plus 64,000 on mine and still going
I had one of the first sets around here, when I went to check prices on them at one Goodyear store the salesman didn't even know they had such a tire :banghead: :ROTFL: :banghead:

Are you going to convince me to buy Duratracs now? :seuss:
There's a GoodYear up the road from me. Wonder if they have any deals.

I just got quoted $598 for 4 245/75/16c's from mom and pop gas station. I think I found my next set. They don't install them though.

Awesome! I feel like I need to take even better care of her now, not that I don't already. Rides a lot better since I rotated my tires.

Went for a quick overnight stay in the mountains to visit my grandparents and they literally live on the side of a mountain.

The KK performed great as I hauled booty up the mountain. Almost had too much fun proving how good the KK was.

I love the Appalachian mountains.. Truly beautiful country.

I attempted to change the oil this afternoon. I drained all the old oil out, and then discovered the filter that is on there is smaller in diameter than the usual size, so my filter wrench doesn't fit! :banghead: (I usually do my own oil changes, but I had the garage do it the last time while it was in the shop for new tires.) So, I put the new oil into the crankcase to be able to drive it to my parking spot for the night. Tomorrow morning I will have to find a filter wrench that fits, drain and save the new oil, change the filter, then put the new oil back in. My Jeep is getting two times the love! <-- The Doors playing "Love Me Two Times"

Could you have used the screw driver method?
Punch hole in filter and use screw driver to turn it off.
Large channel locks?
I have 3-4 different filter tools and fight with it every time.
So kind of happy next oil change will be done at dealer,- as I can't .

Stab a screwdriver through it. Usually works for me. Or I could just say, Grab that thing like a man and twist the SOB off with your bare hands, then do the Tim Allen grunt at the end, like a boss.

Ha ha, yes, I tried that but because of the crazy location of the filter I couldn't get a grip on it. I also don't think I would have much room to turn a screwdriver in there, but it may come to that tomorrow. Maybe this would be easier if I didn't have skids, but the bruises on your forearms are sort of a badge of honor for changing the KK's oil filter.
