Hi guys, I've just bought the AUTEL MS310 OBDII reader. I tried it for the first time on my Liberty 2007 2.8 CRD 120 kw but it has a strange behaviour: it makes the engine light pop out plus the ABS and ESP light come out and shows the code U0002 Can bus off performance. If I erase the codes, unplug it and crank the engine, then everything goes back to normal. Seems like the car does not want a device plugged into the OBDII socket without the engine running. Ever experienced anything like this?

My experience is that the CRD doesn't like an OBD scantool connected when the engine is on. I used several to pull the EGR and FCV codes a few threads down. I plugged it in with the engine off, no key in ignition, then inserted and turned the key to ACC (not cranking) to pull the codes. I used an Autel TP100. I find if I leave the scantool plugged in the diag lights start flashing in the gauge cluster.
