question on rear spring isolators for JBA-TM econo lift

Hi all. I'm going to be installing the JBA-TM 3.5" econo lift in the next few weeks. My question regards rear spring isolators. I was under the impression that those are mainly for leveling a lift, and not actually providing the lift with the OME rear coil springs.

I bought the kit, so have the front struts, front coils, rear coils, rear shocks, f/r extended bump stops, 3/8 clevis ring, top plate and JBA UCA. I know the front isolator is reused to rebuild the front strut - but for the rear, would I need 4 total (two/side, either one top/one bottom vs stacked) to complement the rear coil spring and provide the main rear lift (i.e. absolutely necessary to lift the rear) or are they a leveling component to prevent rear sag (thereby acting as a lift booster and are 'optional')? Looking to stay at 3-3.5" of lift.

Sorry for the inane questions, my old experiences were with add-a-leafs and shackles.

The rear isos are to level out the lift. I have the OME lift with two conduit nuts up front and no added iso's in the rear and I sit level, compared stock where I had a slight rake. If you have the top plate spacer on in front without the rear isos, your front will sit higher than the rear. The additional isos just stack on top of the stock ones. I think it is easier to get them on the bottom rather than the top.

If you are planning on doing the lift yourself, start spraying everything with PB blaster now and make sure you have a lot of extensions for the driver side UCA.

Ah , little thing to think about
If you are doing the TM Econo lift, then the rear springs are longer and provide more lift than what the OMEs do so you would not need the extra isolators

Like Tom said, if you have the Tommudd econo lift from JBA, that comes with 4" rear JBA springs. No need for extra isolators, just the stock top and stock bottom.

If you were to add extra isolators, you should put them on the top as there is some metal that they slip over that holds them more secure than if you were to put them on the bottom.

Yea I talked To Marlon from JBA because I just bought the same kit and he told me that since they are JBA 4" springs you don't need the isolators unless you want to level it then you would just need one of them on the driver side

I'm not sure if this is a dumb question but I'm installing my Tommudd Econo lift this Saturday and I haven't seen any posts about the brake lines and are the stock brake lines long enough if I go full tilt?

With my JBA 4 inch lift and stock sway bar links, the stock brake lines were just long enough (although extended would have been better). Now with JBA's extended sway bar links (installed expertly by Tom a few weeks ago :wink:

), the stock brake lines are maxed at full droop. I wouldn't say they are being stretched much, but there is no room at all for error. This is probably fine on the street for the short term, but I will definitely be extending them before I do any serious wheeling that flexes out my suspension.

If anyone does install the JBA extended brake lines on a KK, post up some info and pics. Any tips would be appreciated!
