We are expecting child number 3 and will have all three in car seats (3 under 4 and under) so I need to start looking for something with a 3rd row.
I love my CRD and planned on keeping it for a long time. I really hate to see it go

GDE ECO (at 43K right when I bought it) with tuner and GDE TCM tune
LSD, power DR seat, tow package, Cruise, Flog lights, updated fuel filter, white with gray cloth int. just changed all fluids (tranny at 60K) Just did timing belt at 74K, Polk speakers and Sony HU,

Been a great Jeep, only had to replace the blower resister pack.

I think it would be hard to find a CRD with the EGR bypasted at such a low mileage and have low mileage. I normally only drove it once or twice a week 45 mile round trip (all highway) Never taken off road, very little towing (small 16ft boat) and very little 4x4. Alway used Mobile 5w40 TDT

A co-worker made me an offer, but I would like little more. I haven't bought anything yet so I would consider trade - Honda pilot or Traverse\Acadia\ENclave. $10,000

The tunes and tuner are over $1,000 alone (I can now get 30MPG at 70MPH summer) Located in MN

Just curious...if u have time to answer...was the timing belt still in decent condition? Or, was it really shot? Would like to put mine off just a little longer...i guess I like playing with fire...

I did one at 98K and the belt was fine.

Changing mine now at 148,000. Belt didn't snap, just sheared off a bunch of teeth. Looking at the valley between the teeth I can see the cords.

I replaced mine at 94k and all looked in perfect shape (water pump, belt, idlers) but like the saying goes; better safe than sorry.

It was in good shape, I really had to bend it flat to see the smallestcrack. But it's great for piece of mind, to just get it done. I had thought about skipping the water pump which would have made the whole job easier, but I had planned on having ita long time.

Inside another timing job today in Miami, and the belt looked fairly decent for the 125k miles it had on it... Except for one valley that had a BIG crack running all the way edge-to-edge right at the base of the tooth. I'm 100% certain that if that belt decided to fail, that would be the point of failure.

I've seen similar cracks on much younger (mileage) belts recently. The age is really starting to get to these. What everyone needs to remember about this is that a new belt, the rubber is fairly supple and has a mild chalky appearance. That is because the rubber also has protectants in it that will rise to the surface as it runs around doing its job.

As it ages, the protectants eventually stop rising to the surface and the belt surface starts to take on a harder (sometimes shiny) appearance, not unlike a serpentine belt does when it gets glazed. The surface may still be protecting the kevlar inside, but it isn't as flexible as it used to be. Just the same as a tire that is too old (by age) gets hard and shiny on the outside... And starts cracking and splitting. The problem is that the kevlar inside is very fragile when exposed. Yes, a crack today doesn't mean that failure will happen today, tomorrow, or maybe even 1000 miles from now... But it WILL happen.

For anyone ignoring this because your CRD has very low miles... Are you willing to gamble with $2500 on the table? Because that is potentially what you are doing, especially if you have to have a dealer doing the work.
